Privacy Policy

Booklu is run by Akonita Pvt Ltd, 148, Galle Road, Mount Lavinia, Sri Lanka, which is responsible for the personal data you share with us. We process personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022 of Sri Lanka.

What we collect

• Ticket buyers: your name, email address and phone number, and the tickets you buy.
• Hosts: your business name, registration number, contact details and bank details for payouts.
• Technical data: basic logs such as IP address and browser type, used to keep the service secure.

Payments

Payments are processed by PayHere, a licensed payment service provider. You enter your card details on PayHere’s secure page, and we never see or store your card details.

How we use your data

• To issue and email your tickets and to check you in at the event.
• To share your name and ticket details with the host of the event you bought tickets for.
• To provide customer support, process refunds and prevent fraud.
• To meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not send marketing messages without your consent.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the event host, PayHere for payments, and service providers that help us run Booklu (such as hosting and email delivery), under agreements that protect your data.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as Sri Lankan tax and accounting law requires, and other personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it, by emailing support@booklu.com. We respond within 21 days.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to run the site, such as keeping hosts signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
